**Download a copy of the Work Study Agreement if you haven't yet completed the initial paperwork packet - this is due to Lance at the start of the semester (Fall or Spring).**

***I will be in my office, 234B, every Thursday after 9th period (unless I have a meeting).  Bring your completed assignments and printed paystubs to my office at this time.  Or slide them under my door, if you choose.

LESSON 1: WHAT IS YOUR HOLLAND CODE?

1) Take the Holland Code survey at http://www.cacareerzone.org/ip/ (click on 'Go' next to "Start a new Interest Profiler", and then follow the directions)

2) Print your survey results, and turn them into Lance in room 234B (slide under door if I'm not here).

LESSON 2: UNDERSTANDING YOUR HOLLAND CODE

1) Holland Code Descriptions - Read the type descriptions and determine your top two types.

2) Describe your work personality type on the Graphic Organizer in your own words - what does it mean to you that you are Realistic, Investigative, Artistic, Social, Enterprising, or Conventional (describe your top two).

3) Now go to O*Net Online: Choose your top interest area (Holland Code #1), and examine the list of careers that match that interest area.  Next, choose your #2 interest area (Holland Code #2) from the drop-down box, and select 'Go' - now examine this new list of careers.  

4) Choose the top five careers that interest you most, and write them into the five circles on the backside of the graphic organizer.

LESSON 3: CHOOSING YOUR TOP CAREERS

Complete the document, Top Career Options_Reasons for Choosing, using the five career choices that you previously identified on the graphic organizer.

LESSON 4: RESEARCHING YOUR TOP CAREER

1) Download the Career Research Form HERE - your mission is to complete as much of this form as possible!

2) Visit www.collegeincolorado.org to research your career(s) - you can use the search box in the top-right hand corner of the website.

3) Visit the Occupational Outlook Handbook for additional research info.

LESSON 5: YOUR TOP CAREERS & YOUR TOP VALUES

1) Complete the Work Importance Profiler - print a record of your detailed results, and write your top values on the Graphic Organizer.

2) After you have completed the Work Importance Profiler, visit Onet Online and choose your top work value (achievement, independence, recognition, etc.).  Then add your second value, and hit "Go".  Check out your list of careers.  ***If you choose to, you can also add your third value, and hit "Go".

3) Identify your top three career choices from this list, and record them at the bottom of the Graphic Organizer, under the Work Values section.

LESSON 6: YOUR MBTI PERSONALITY TYPE

1) This one is for fun!  Find out more about your unique personality type - it's pretty useful when you are looking at career choices, and relationship choices.

2) Print your test results (or take a screen shot) and turn it in to Lance.


LESSON 7: UNDERSTANDING YOUR PERSONALITY TYPE

1) Now explore your personality type at 16Personalities.

2) On your Graphic Organizer, list three strengths that you identify with (from the personality type description at 16Personalities), and three weaknesses that you identify with.

3) Turn in your Graphic Organizer to Lance!
